Breaking Barriers to Safety and Healing
Virtual Panel Summit

Wednesday, May 26 – 2:00-3:30 PM ET

Urban Resource Institute, the National Domestic Violence Hotline, and a panel of experts convened for a virtual summit on the dynamic intersection of domestic violence and pets, addressing the issues of pets as a barrier for seeking safety from abuse and the human-animal bond as an important element of healing.

Panelists and participants represent the domestic violence and animal welfare sectors, including direct service providers, advocates, organizations, institutions, and government agencies seeking solutions to help adults, children and pets find safety and healing from domestic violence and abuse.

Survey Results

URI and The Hotline unveiled the findings of the largest and first truly national survey of domestic violence survivors about the impact of pets on their experience.
