New York, NY (August 19, 2024) – Urban Resource Institute (URI) is pleased to announce Patricia Arroyo as the new Program Director for Hope House, one of URI’s key domestic violence shelters. Patricia joins URI with a wealth of experience in social work, underpinned by a lifelong commitment to empowering families and communities. Patricia’s career in social services began in early intervention programs and continued with significant roles in Head Start programs in the Bronx. Balancing full-time work and raising three children, she pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Social Work from Lehman College and a Master of Social Work from Hunter College. In 2023, Patricia achieved her License Master of Social Work, marking a significant milestone in her professional journey.

As Program Director, Patricia will oversee the administration of shelter programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering a therapeutic environment that encourages safety and self-sufficiency among residents. Her role will be pivotal in developing innovative services that represent the best practices in supporting survivors of domestic violence.
