Director of Trauma Informed Responses and Evaluation

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Urban Resource Institute (URI), a not-for-profit 501(c) (3) organization established in 1980, operates shelter, legal and job training programs for domestic violence victims, residential and vocational programs for individuals with developmental disabilities. With a $70-80 million annual budget with over 600 staff by the end of the year, URI promotes safety, justice, health, and independence for vulnerable individuals and families residing in New York City.

Reporting to the Vice President of Quality Improvement, Evaluation, and Training, The Director of Trauma Informed Responses and Evaluation is responsible for leading the implementation of trauma informed (TI) and resilience building principles and the evaluation of trauma responsive service delivery across URI’s programs and departments.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS, EDUCATION & ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
• Serve as the lead for URI’s cross functional Quality Improvement Team (QIT) to ensure URI’s policies and practices are aligned with trauma informed and resilience building principles in order to effectively respond to trauma victims and the impact of trauma on URI staff.
• Identify and recommend key performance indicators and trauma informed outcomes for programming and operations.
• Utilize best practices in the field of trauma and resilience to deepen and expand trauma responsive service delivery throughout URI programs and departments.
• Develop, implement, and monitor an evaluation plan addressing logic models, program evaluation questions, data collection methods, analysis, and reporting.
• Collaborate with URI Leadership to interpret evaluation results and monitor key performance indicators, in order to further programmatic goals and continuously improve quality of care.
• Develop and facilitate workshops, offer in-service program support and expertise in the area of trauma informed and resilience based practices.
• Supervise staff in accordance with TI principles.
• Travel to program sites as needed.
• Other duties as requested based on department, program and/or organizational needs.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Commitment to the vision and mission of Urban Resource Institute.
• Demonstrated sensitivity and experience with and/or knowledge of domestic violence within and against disenfranchised communities including individuals whom identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and/or HIV-affected, the elderly and individuals with mental health issues.
• An understanding of non-profit social services program delivery.
• LCSW preferred or LMSW with 7 years of experience in a clinical setting, with two or more years in a supervisory capacity.
• Experience in trauma-informed clinical modalities.
• Substantial experience delivering training and working with groups; with proven ability to do so with staff at varying professional levels.
• Demonstrated skills in collaborative approaches to leadership, relationship management, and project management.
• Proven ability to plan and implement programs with quantifiable results.
• Highly developed communication and presentation skills: written, verbal, visual and interpersonal.
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google environments including the ability to use a wide variety of software such as Word, MS Excel, Google Docs, Google Sheets.
