Urban Resource Institute Celebrates World Social Work Day

Did you know there are over 700,000 social workers in the U.S. confronting some of the most challenging issues in our communities and 83% of these workers are women?

March is Women’s History Month and Social Work Month, with March 16 designated as World Social Work Day. We are deeply proud to celebrate the valuable service of social workers who remain the backbone of our Urban Resource Institute and vital to the communities we serve. Social workers are needed now more than ever as we grapple with the ongoing impacts of COVID-19 and concurrent crises of increased domestic violence rates and homelessness. Social workers’ impact in positions and organizations tackling social problems have heroically helped individuals, families and communities rise up.

Social work is an essential service and helps change our communities for the better. Today and every day, we are proud of the URI social workers and all of our related staff who are at the forefront of helping our clients rebuild their lives and forge a sustainable future.
