POSITION OVERVIEW:
Urban Resource Institute seeks a motivated candidate to supervise its Crime Victim Assistance program-Office of Victim Services (OVS). The Program Coordinator will be responsible for supervision and management of three case managers and Program Assistant. The Program Coordinator will play an integral part in the design and implementation of the program’s expansion. The Program Coordinator will ensure that the program meet the needs of all crime victims and provide the necessary assistance in the completion the New York State Crime Victim Compensation forms. She/he will be responsible for the maintenance of administrative adherence related to statistical data and collection of program documentation.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS, EDUCATION & ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
• Assist in the orientation and training of new staff
• Provide individual case management supervision twice per month to case managers
• Provide individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and safety planning to victims who are at risk of, witness to, or involved in abusive relationships
• Make appropriate community referrals for victims and/or families when indicated
• Provide training and technical assistance about Domestic Violence and the Crime Victim Assistance program to DV shelters, Family Justice Centers and provide ongoing outreach and training to the community organizations in order to improve their skills in identifying abusive relationships and making appropriate referrals
• Engage, train and support volunteers to become leaders in their communities
• Conduct workshops for parents, staff, and community organizations on domestic violence prevention, the legal aspects of domestic violence, helping children overcome the effects of witnessing/experiencing abusive relationships, and other pertinent subject matter as indicated
• Maintain records of all activities with victims, staff, families, and community organizations, and submit monthly reports
• Attend trainings, workshops, and staff meetings
• Perform other tasks as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE:
• Two year associate degree and domestic violence experience
• Competence working with diverse groups of victims, including, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender, immigrant, women in DV shelter care, and/or low­ income victims and communities
• Strong commitment to women empowerment
• Capacity for working in an independent setting as well as collaboratively
• Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills
• Desire to work in a non-profit setting and build upon a growing program
• Exceptional judgment, organization, and time management skills
• Training/teaching experience strongly preferred
• Bilingual preferred
• Computer literacy
