Now more than ever, survivors need your support.

Now more than ever, survivors need your support.

The federal government shut down on September 30.

Since then, more than 750,000 federal workers have been furloughed, new federal funding has been paused, and programs that provide food and assistance to families—such as WIC and SNAP—may shut down within weeks.

Families need your support to find safety tonight.

At Urban Resource Institute (URI), we remain steadfast in our mission to provide safety, healing, and hope for survivors of domestic violence and homelessness. But the shutdown has already begun to impact our work. Federal grants are frozen, proposals for new funding cannot be submitted, and critical budget approvals are delayed. The longer this continues, the greater the risk to the programs that keep families safe, fed, and on the path to stability.

We have no idea how long this shutdown will last, but we know what we must do. We will continue to provide families with food, safe shelter, counseling, and care. We will continue to protect survivors and their children, and we will continue to show up every day for those who depend on us.

Your support makes that possible. A donation today helps us fill the gaps left by frozen federal funds and ensures that survivors have what they need to survive and rebuild. Your generosity helps families move from trauma to triumph—and gives hope when systems fail.

Now more than ever, survivors need you. Donate Now.
