NEW YORK (January 31, 2022) – City & State New York has named Ida Landers, Senior Director of Domestic Violence Emergency and Transitional Shelters of Urban Resource Institute (URI), to the 2022 50 Over 50: The Age Disruptors. Landers was recognized among New York City’s prominent leaders in government, business, nonprofits, advocacy and media for her work supporting and empowering domestic violence survivors and vulnerable populations across the city.
“Ida’s incredible passion for social work and commitment to serving New York’s most vulnerable individuals and families is truly unmatched, and her recognition today deeply reflects that,” said Dr. Carla Smith, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of URI. “With decades of experience, Ida, along with all of today’s 50 Under 50 influential peers, has a dedicated history of bettering New York City, and we are best positioned for a future free of domestic violence with her on our team.”
In her role at URI, Ida is responsible for the strategic oversight of five domestic violence and transitional shelters within URI’s portfolio. She has more than 25 years of experience in the nonprofit sector and has dedicated her career to making New York City a better place for all New Yorkers. “I am motivated by the fact that in my field, I am an agent of change,” she stated. “I am motivated to continue working and mentoring, coaching and training new employees and encouraging the staff and the clients to do the best they can.”
City & State’s second annual 50 Over 50 was presented in partnership with AARP New York to honor New York’s most respected public servants.
