Toi Eshun
Toi Eshun serves as the Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications at Urban Resource Institute (URI), the nation’s largest provider of domestic violence shelter services and a leader in homeless family advocacy. Reporting directly to the CEO, Toi is the chief architect of URI’s brand strategy, overseeing all aspects of external and internal communications, media relations, marketing, digital engagement, and narrative development.
With over a decade of experience in mission-driven marketing, Toi brings a strategic, equity-centered approach to storytelling—amplifying the voices of survivors and communities disproportionately affected by violence, poverty, and housing insecurity. Her leadership is grounded in building bold, high-impact campaigns that elevate brand visibility, engage diverse stakeholders, and advance social justice.
Prior to joining URI, Toi served as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications at NABA, Inc., where she led national campaigns supporting Black professionals and institutions. She previously directed health equity initiatives at Susan G. Komen, where she developed culturally responsive campaigns and forged partnerships with major media outlets to spotlight disparities in breast cancer outcomes.
Toi holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Texas Woman’s University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. A dynamic and visionary leader, she is passionate about cultivating inclusive narratives that move people to awareness, empathy, and action.
