July 8, 2026 | NEW YORK, NY – Urban Resource Institute (URI), the nation’s largest provider of domestic violence shelter services and a leading provider of services for families experiencing homelessness, is pleased to announce the appointment of Rebekkah Boxt as Vice President of Development.
Rebekkah brings more than 15 years of experience in fundraising and nonprofit leadership, with a distinguished track record of building strategic partnerships, strengthening donor engagement, and securing philanthropic investments that advance mission-driven organizations. Most recently, she served as Senior Director of Development at The Century Foundation, where she led fundraising initiatives, cultivated relationships with institutional and individual donors, and developed strategies to support the organization’s research and policy priorities.
Throughout her career, Rebekkah has successfully designed comprehensive development strategies, expanded philanthropic partnerships, and secured critical resources across a range of nonprofit sectors. She is recognized for her collaborative leadership, strategic vision, and commitment to connecting donors with opportunities that create meaningful and lasting social impact.
As Vice President of Development, Rebekkah will oversee URI’s comprehensive fundraising strategy, including foundation and corporate partnerships, individual giving, grants, special events, volunteer engagement, and donor stewardship. She will also serve as a member of URI’s Senior Team, working collaboratively across the organization to strengthen philanthropic partnerships, expand private fundraising, and advance URI’s long-term fundraising strategy in support of the organization’s mission.

Rebekkah earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina, where she was a Magellan Scholar in Political Science, and a master’s degree in public health from the CUNY School of Public Health and Health Policy.
