Urban Resource Institute Appoints Ishi Sahni as Senior Vice President of Development

Mar 30, 2026

New York, NY | March 30, 2026 — Urban Resource Institute (URI) today announced the appointment of Ishi Sahni as Senior Vice President of Development, a key executive leadership role responsible for advancing the organization’s revenue growth strategy, expanding philanthropic partnerships, and strengthening long-term sustainability.

In this role, Sahni will lead URI’s high-impact partnerships that include multi-channel fundraising strategy, major gifts, corporate partnerships, institutional support, and emerging revenue models. She will oversee the development team and work with the Executive Team and Board to grow and diversify URI’s funding base in support of its mission to end domestic violence and homelessness.

With two decades of executive leadership experience, Sahni brings deep expertise in building philanthropic partnerships and leading strategic fundraising for mission-driven organizations. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Development at The Century Foundation, where she built and led a development operation that grew into a $14 million fundraising program, significantly expanding the organization’s reach and influence.

“I am honored to join Urban Resource Institute at such a pivotal moment,” said Ishi Sahni, Senior Vice President of Development. “URI’s work is both urgent and transformative. I look forward to building partnerships that not only sustain this work but expand it—so more survivors and families have access to the safety, stability, and opportunity they deserve.”

Earlier in her career, Sahni held senior development roles at Planned Parenthood, StreetWise Partners, the Correctional Association of NY and GrowNYC, where she led innovative fundraising campaigns, cultivated corporate partnerships, and spearheaded a successful capital campaign for Project Farmhouse, a sustainability and education center in New York City.

In her new role, Sahni will focus on strengthening donor engagement, advancing strategic partnerships, and exploring new models for revenue growth that align with URI’s mission and long-term vision.

This appointment reflects URI’s continued investment in building a future-focused development strategy that supports innovation, expands impact, and ensures sustainable growth.
