The Urban Resource Institute (URI), a not-for-profit 501(c) (3) organization established in 1980, operates shelter, legal and job training programs for domestic violence victims, residential and vocational programs for individuals with developmental disabilities, and residential programs for homeless families. With a $73 million annual budget with over 500 staff, URI promotes safety, justice, health, and independence for vulnerable individuals and families residing in New York City.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with Fundraising, Marketing, Human Resources, Legal, Finance, Facilities, and Program teams to develop an agency-wide data strategy, metrics, and real-time data management tools and techniques. The Vice President will manage large-scale in-house and outsourced application development and integration initiatives, as well as provide technical oversight and consulting to internal accounting, finance, budget, and HR systems.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS, EDUCATION & ESSENTIAL SKILLS
•Oversee and maintain the organization’s client management system to serve the current and future needs of the organization; strategize the use of the client management analytics, reporting tools, and technology platforms to support workflow and programmatic efforts.
•Develop and maintain internal policies and procedures to ensure the quality and integrity of the database, as well as funder reporting and data processing procedures.
•Liaise with senior level Legal, Marketing, Fundraising, Finance, Accounting and HR staff to lead various operational processes, reporting, and metrics to ensure optimal collection and utilization of the agency-wide data.
•Liaise with senior level Finance, Accounting and HR staff to ensure effective and efficient use of sophisticated applications and full integration into the data-driven environment.
•In partnership with key technology staff, assess current systems utilization and develop more effective policies and procedures; manage the SOP implementation across all departments.
•Develop and maintain standard queries and reports create and manage departmental dashboard for programmatic, personnel and financial reporting; compile, summarize and analyze statistical and other data to provide recommendations.
•Create client-tracking reports; set reporting priorities and establish appropriate timelines for report generation, and funder submissions, to ensure alignment of measures-to-outcomes Programmatic activities.
•Maintain constituent records and ensure all biographical information is appropriately obtained and kept secure and up-to-date
•Liaise between departments to serve needs; monitor and report metrics, with special attention paid to understanding the impact of newly-implemented SOPs and operational initiatives.
•Manage, maintain and troubleshoot any systems issues; administer information level security, maintenance, and upgrades; serve as agency’s main liaison with key technology vendors and other eco-system partners; manage regular system updates, etc.
•Partner with various operational departments to identify new research and management tools, assessing the needs and interests of all departments before creating formal recommendations.
•Establish Data Governance program and facilitate successful adherence to standards and operational principles
•Represent and promote organizational values to internal and external parties
•Other duties as requested based on department and/or organizational need
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE:
•Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is required in technology management, or management of information systems, or in a closely related field; Master’s Degree preferred
•PMP or other relevant professional certifications preferred
•At least 10 years of progressive CRM/data systems experience required, preferably in a complex and/or federated commercial or non-profit environment
•Knowledge of sophisticated Data Warehouse products is a plus
•Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience and proficiency with RDBMS systems, multi-system online, cloud-based integration software, and software that integrates with SQL-server, Tableau or other analytics tools, along with Microsoft Office 365 Suite
•Knowledge of modern Client Management Systems, such as Clienttrack, Apricot or others
•Knowledge of HRIS and Accounting & Finance systems is preferred
•Knowledge of Data Warehousing and data analytics products is preferred
•Knowledge of Fundraising, events, and e-mail marketing products is preferred
•Advanced knowledge of various programming languages preferred
•Advanced SQL administration skills a plus
•Knowledge of reporting packages, such as Tableau, Looker or Qlik is a plus
