POSITION OVERVIEW

The Urban Resource Institute (URI), a not-for-profit 501(c) (3) organization established in 1980, operates shelter, legal and job training programs for domestic violence victims, residential and vocational programs for individuals with developmental disabilities, and residential programs for homeless families. With a $60 million annual budget and more than 600 staff, URI promotes safety, justice, health, and independence for vulnerable individuals and families residing in New York City.  Reporting to the SVP, Marketing & Communications, the Marketing Manager will support managing marketing initiatives, with a focus on developing all digital strategic initiatives, KPIs, execution and analytics. Duties also include, but are not limited to budget management, and management of collateral marketing material.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS, EDUCATION & ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • In collaboration with the SVP, Marketing and Communications and the Director of Communications, support the development and management of URI strategic marketing initiatives
  • Establish KPIs to track and measure all digital and e-marketing efforts and ensure positive outcomes and ROI
  • Lead paid and owned social media strategy and management
  • Manage e-marketing initiatives, including maintenance of editorial calendar
  • Manage marketing budgets, including the ability to stay within budget and provide monthly status reports
  • Oversee the scope of work, contracts and invoicing for vendors
  • Development, creation and maintenance of marketing collateral
  • Maintenance and archiving of photo assets
  • Primary interface with graphic design consultant
  • Maintenance of website including updating of content via WordPress  CMS
  • Support ad hoc projects and activities as required
  • Other duties as requested based on department, program and/or organizational needs.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BA/BS required
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in marketing, with an emphasis on digital media
  • Deep skills and knowledge of Google Analytics, Facebook Ad Manager,  Google Ad Words, WordPress and Mail Chimp
  • Strong project management skills
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy
  • Strong analytical, administrative, written and oral communication skills
  • Experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse team, maintaining a healthy work environment for staff that encourages professionalism, respect, equality, diversity and continuous improvement
  • Ability to work independently assesses priorities, take initiative, handle multiple assignments, and meet deadlines in a high functioning environment
  • Forward looking thinker, proactive self-starter who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with people of diverse educational, cultural and professional backgrounds
