• Will oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of job-specific training for staff in domestic violence, homeless, and developmentally disabled settings as well as other business area staff as appropriate. Confer with programs and subject matter experts to analyze training needs, create and update curriculum and training plans, and produce an annual training calendar aligning offerings with URI’s strategic goals. Manage and deliver training to staff on how to effectively perform their jobs using adult and modern learning formats including eLearning. Create training plans, instructor led training materials, online (eLearning) modules, coaching outlines, Train-the-Trainer programs, scenario-based learning cases, and reference guides. Create a database to track training usage and participation. Work with program leadership to measure and evaluate the impact of training on program staff and use evaluation findings to revise training plans as necessary. Drive post training follow-through on transfer of learning and application of knowledge and skills to the job. Manage and provide coaching to a team of one to two staff trainers. Must have a Master’s Degree in Organizational Development, Education, or Human Resources. 6 years of Learning and Development Training experience in a social service environment, experience within a non-profit organization is preferred. 4+ years delivering training and authoring content to various audiences. Demonstrated sensitivity and experience with and/or knowledge of domestic violence within and against disenfranchised communities including individuals whom identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and/or HIV-affected, the elderly and individuals with mental health issues. Proven presentation and facilitation skills. Candidate must understand the principles of training and learning; must know how to apply them in a variety of situations. Must know how to evaluate training results and provide necessary follow-up. Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills in communicating orally, and write clearly and concisely when communicating all information. Must be very organized and be able to effectively prioritize tasks to ensure their timely completion. Must be computer-literate and must have knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, and training tools.
