Peter Duda, Senior Director of Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) Programs, has spent over nine years at Urban Resource Institute. Prior to joining the organization, Mr. Duda worked for the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities as a Respite Coordinator, setting up pilot respite programs that led to the development of a full array of family support services. He also worked with the Department of Mental Health as the Business Officer of Manhattan Children’s Psychiatric Center. Mr. Duda previously took a break from URI to join Volunteers of America as the Acting Division Director of Camp LaGuardia, a 1001 homeless shelter for single adult men located in Chester, New York. He also worked as an Associate Division Director in the Housing Division of Volunteers of America, where he was responsible for over 600 units of supportive housing in 5 buildings, and he has also served as the Executive Director of the Lowell Transitional Living. Mr. Duda has an MPA from LIU – CW Post Campus and raises and trains Chesapeake Bay Retrievers in his free time.
