Supporting Recovery from Substance Abuse and Dependency
The Urban Resource Institute’s Marguerite T. Saunders Urban Center for Alcoholism and Addiction Services (UCAS) is a full-service, community-based outpatient treatment center in New York City that helps adult men and women (age 18 and older) overcome dependency on alcohol and drugs and move forward with recovery.
At URI, we believe that treatment is most effective when it addresses the needs of the whole person. We support addiction recovery by providing a full range of services, including thorough medical and mental health assessments and evaluations; individual, group, and family counseling; and treatment methods that help our clients understand and learn to overcome the root causes of their addiction. Clients receive on-site services Monday through Friday.
Treatment plans tailored to meet the specific needs of the individual are the hallmark of URI’s hands-on, patient-centered approach. Program services are facilitated by an interdisciplinary team of fully credentialed professional staff and a clinically trained physician who understand the communities they serve, treating clients and their families with compassion, respect, dignity, and cultural sensitivity.
Clients referred to URI for treatment and counseling services receive a response within 24 hours. Our clinicians and support staff maintain regular contact with referring agencies and other community providers to ensure effective case management.
Licensed by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services, the program is centrally located in East New York, Brooklyn, near public transportation and is easily accessible to the client populations we serve.
